Skladatelji filmske glazbe: John Powell

Engleski kompozitor John Powell poznat je po svom glazbenom radu na mnogim animiranim filmovima, a radio je glazbu za preko 70 filmova. Iza njega su i mnoge uspješne suradnje, poput one s Harryjem Gregsonom-Williamsom („Antz, „Chicken Run” and „Shrek”) i s Hansom Zimmerom („Chill Factor”, „The Road to El Dorado” i prva dva „Kung Fu Panda filma”). Uz filmove se bavi i skladanjem za promotivne oglase.

Samo neki od redatelja s kojima je surađivao su Carlos Saldanha, Dean DeBlois, Chris Sanders, Benjamin Renner, Chris Renaud, George Miller, John Woo, Ron Underwood, Doug Liman, Charles Stone III, Simon Otto, Jared Hess i Paul Greengrass. Bio je nominiran za nagradu Oscar za film „How to Train Your Dragon”.

Trenutno još uvijek aktualan kino hit, mjuzikl „Wicked”, glazbu između ostalog duguje i Johnu Powellu koji radi/će raditi glazbu i za njegov nastavak, „Wicked: For Good” (2025.).

O svojoj ljubavi prema glazbi Powell priznaje:

I wanted to play music from the age of seven. I suddenly fell in love with it and that’s what I was going to do, or to be involved with music. It was just speaking to me at a level that as a seven year old I suddenly realized the world was capable of supporting in my head a lot more than what I was understanding verbally and visually.
